Valve

The new easy seal MaxiValve is simpler, stronger, and easier to use than our previous valve system. Follow these steps to use the new MaxiValve:

TO EVACUATE AIR:

Manually remove the red plastic protector cap from the MaxiValve.
While holding the rubber tubing, attach the vacuum pump hose to the MaxiValve. You should hear a "click" when the connection has been made.
Evacuate the air from the splint.
To remove the pump hose from the MaxiValve, depress the metal tab on the pump hose connector. Place the red plastic cap back on the MaxiValve.

TO RELEASE VACUUM:

Manually remove the red plastic protector cap from the MaxiValve.
While holding the MaxiValve, depress the red plastic insert which will allow air to enter the splint.
Place the protector cap back on the MaxiValve for storage.

NOTE: If you have existing EVAC-U-SPLINT products that you want to upgrade to the new MaxiValve, contact your local authorized Hartwell Medical distributor to order the new MaxiValve Retrofit kit, Model EV 15RET.

Pump

The extremity splint set now has a new compact pump that is light-weight and easier to handle. The compact pump uses the same quality construction methods, so it is just as durable as our large pump with the foot stirrup. Should you want the larger pump make sure to notify your local EVAC-U-SPLINT sales representative. Our new pump label shown here makes quick reference easy and extremely simple.

Straps

The hook and loop straps use RED colored ends to make them stand out from the black strap material. This makes it easier to see the ends of the straps in low light conditions, thus improving application and removal efforts. We have also incorporated the low-profile UltraMate Velcro which doesn't snag or catch on clothing.

Graphics

We have listened to your requests and we have added a "Property Of" area on the splints so you can mark the splints with your department name, vehicle number, and telephone number. All splints have the model number and size designation symbol printed directly on the splint for easy reference. L - Large, Model EV 103; M - Medium, Model EV 102; and S - Small, Model EV 101.

Carry Case

CARRY CASE: The duffle bag style carry case has been lengthened 2" to make it easier to repack the splints after use.
